Leo's Story

Leo is SUCH a handsome donkey. He looks a little bit like a cow, to be honest! He’s been here at Oscar’s Place since July 2021. Unfortunately, Leo has many different health conditions. He has Cushing’s Disease and receives daily medication to help keep his symptoms at bay. Leo also has chronic laminitis (inflammation in the hoof that causes foot pain) and has suffered from multiple hoof issues, both before and after he arrived at our ranch. Leo’s hooves are in such bad shape and he’s so prone to laminitis that we keep him in a special area that’s covered in six-inch deep pea gravel to provide additional support for his hooves. He also has an eye and an ear that are prone to significant burns, so he wears a fly mask. 

 

Leo is a super sweet donkey, and we are so happy he is here. Because Leo requires around-the-clock special care, he’ll be a permanent resident at our ranch for the rest of his life. He spends his days with Winston and Chrissy, his two best friends. Help give this love bug the special care he needs!
