S1:E12 The Plan for Roxanne

One of the most impactful ways you can make a difference is by sponsoring a donkey at Oscar’s Place. Meet our permanent resident donkeys and become a monthly donor!

The Oscar’s Place team has been working around-the-clock caring for Roxanne, their first official orphan.

Roxanne is sweet, playful, and doesn’t appear to have any idea she’s a donkey. Ron and the team must try to get her eating hay and straw so they can continue weening her off formula. Milestones are super important for newborn donkeys, and Roxanne is hitting all of those... but she’s also causing chaos and getting loose during Guy’s morning feeding rounds.

Because she is so friendly with people and has no fear of trailers given her familiarity with them, Ron, Josh, and Madyson take her to the Ukiah Senior Center for a tryout as their new community donkey. It’s important for Ron and the team to spread joy and share their love of donkeys, and Roxanne is the perfect candidate. Roxanne meets several seniors, and Ron and Josh are able to dispel some misperceptions about donkeys to the locals. Given her comfort with the field trip, it looks like Roxanne may have a future as the new Oscar’s Place community donkey!
