Visit Oscar’s Place

Oscar’s Place is a rescue and sanctuary where donkeys find safety, healing, and care. Our priority is to keep the environment calm, safe, and stress-free for the animals in our care.

Visitor Policy

Oscar’s Place is not open to the public. We welcome scheduled visits from donors, volunteers, and potential adopters to our Hopland location. All tours must be booked at least 48 hours in advance and take place during visiting hours (9 am to 3 pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays). 

Our Potter Valley sanctuary is a closed location and not open to the public. This property is intentionally designed as a low interaction environment for healthy donkeys who prefer a quieter, more independent lifestyle. We want to respect their preferences and we work to keep their surroundings calm, consistent, and safe.

From time to time, we will host Open Barn Days for the community and supporters to learn more about our mission. Outside of these events, the Potter Valley sanctuary remains closed to visitors.

We cannot accommodate visitors without an appointment or visitors who have not signed waivers. All visitors must be at least 12 years old. Youth between the ages of 12 and 17 must be accompanied by an adult. No dogs are allowed on our property.
