Kate’s Story
Kate’s mom, Beatrice, was rescued from an auction in Texas back in July 2023. She was saved along with her sister, Sylvia, and both girls were pregnant. They were also very sick and malnourished, fighting wounds, nasal discharge, and potential lung infections. We raced to get them healthy and comfortable around humans before their babies arrived.
Kate was born first—a beautiful, healthy girl. Soon after, Sylvia gave birth to Babe. Sadly, Sylvia’s health declined, and we had to say goodbye to her in August 2025. Mom Beatrice struggles with her health, particularly in her feet. Because of this, she will always live at Oscar’s Place, where she can receive special care. Since we don’t split up bonded families, Kate and Babe will also be here as long as Beatrice is.
Sweet Kate is a young, lovely, very large donkey who adores her mom. They are never more than a few feet apart. She also loves her cousin, Babe. This little family of three is always hanging out together. Kate is friendly and enjoys soaking up love and attention from staff and volunteers. She is looking for sponsors like you to give her a happy and healthy life ahead!
