Meet Smokey and Maxwell

Smokey and Maxwell are two peas in a pod. Together, they were adopted by a loving forever family. Safe to say that they are living their best lives. We got this update from their adopter, and it was so sweet that we wanted to share it with you here. 

“We adopted Smokey and Maxwell in January of 2025. They are both loving their new home and have settled in with their new friends, Ty and Sunny (horses) and two cats. They both are great ‘watchdogs,’ letting us know if anyone has arrived. 

Smokey is a little more vocal than Maxwell. We are pretty sure that she thinks we absolutely cannot hear her braying, so she is extra loud! She’s also a little more shy than Maxwell, so we have been working with her on that. She is learning to trust more and more every day and really enjoys having an occasional cookie. 

Maxwell loves getting her head scratched and likes to be hugged. They both love to be groomed and enjoy rolling in the sand and sunbathing. All in all, life is good. They are both so sweet! The girls are happy and loved.” — Kelly, Smokey & Maxwell’s adopter
