You're invited to the first-ever Oscar's Place Donkey Telethon (Ron's Birthday Edition)! Come together to help save the lives of donkeys who have suffered. Tune in live on Facebook and call 1(855) 5-DONKEY to chat with an Oscar's Place team member and join the celebration. There will be special guests, lots of donkeys, and a DUNK TANK!
For every supporter who signs up as an Oscar's Place Guardian monthly donor, a team member will take a throw at the dunk tank target! Imagine the satisfaction of seeing Ron plummet into the water — all while knowing that you've made a real difference for donkeys.

Meet Ron King
Ron King went from sitting front row at Milan fashion shows to shoveling donkey manure — and has never felt more joy. Not too long ago, Ron thought he had it all: a fast-paced, bi-coastal life and a job as a major media marketing executive in NYC working with top celebrities and business leaders. But when the pandemic hit and he was laid off, he began looking for a change in pace and purpose.
Ron found himself in Hopland, California to help his friend Phil Selway sell a 75-acre ranch. When he learned about the heartbreaking fate of unwanted donkeys, he knew they had to keep the property and take action. Ron and Phil co-founded Oscar’s Place Adoption Center & Sanctuary in January 2021 to rehabilitate and rehome rescued donkeys. It’s a place where donkeys who have suffered abuse or neglect find recovery, healing, and love.
To date, Oscar’s Place has rescued more than 200 donkeys from slaughterhouse auctions in California and Texas. The rescued donkeys often arrive at the sanctuary in very rough shape; many are malnourished, physically injured, have parasites, or are otherwise sick. Through medical care, nutrition, wide open pastures, and dedicated caretakers — they begin to transform.
